Hej!

Two years ago,  I came across the work of the amazing artist Jason deCaires Taylor through a TV documentary. Today, a good friend of mine reminded me of his mind-blowing beautiful artwork, so I guess it´s about time that I share it with my handful of watchers :aww:

Jason deCaires Taylor is an English underwater photographer, sculptor and conservationist who has been creating several projects of underwater installations. His creations of life size people on the ocean floor are designed as art which over time develops into artificial coral reefs for endangered sea life to colonise and inhabit.

Taylor's aim is to draw the human footprint to his environment and away from the natural reefs, allowing the landscape time to regenerate. In 2006 he created the worlds first underwater sculpture park in Grenada, West Indies. The sculptures are sited in clear shallow waters to afford easy access by divers, snorkellers and glass-bottomed boats. These underwater museums facilitate the spawning of new coral reefs while freeing-up the surrounding ecosystem from the effects of pollution and tourism.

I warmly recommend everybody to visit his website

and take the time to visit his gallery and watch the movies in the film section. His website also provides interesting informations about different inhabitants of coral reefs (like corals, sponges, algae....) in the section "environment".

I wish you all the very best :sun: Greetings from grey cold germany!
